TSUBOTA PEARL COLOR PETROL LIGHTER
Tsubota Pearl was founded in Tokyo in 1952 and started production of pocket lighters in 1958.
The Hard-edge was introduced in 1999, when contemporary lighter design was moving towards more streamlined and decorative forms. TSUBOTA PEARL chose a contrarian approach to introduce an unergonomic lighter with minimal 'hard' contours that emphasised its objectivity. This was the result of several efforts to remove all ornamentation in favour of function - the simple shape of the lighter is the result of this investigation. Since then, the Hard-edge has become an icon in the catalogue for over 60 years.
